MIAA Women's Cross Country Week #4 Wrap-Up

Week #4 brought all nine member institutions to the 2016 MIAA Jamboree at Alma College's Pine River Country Club Saturday, Sept. 24.

While the individual race featured four different schools represented in the top four finishes, it was Calvin's depth that gave the Knights the team title. Calvin, ranked No. 9 nationally in the most recent USTFCCCA Division III poll, had all five scorers finish in the top eight overall to give the Knights 29 team points. Hope placed second with 47 points, as the No. 15-ranked team in the country had their top five harriers finish in the top 13.

Hope's Erin Herrmann (Wheaton, Ill.) outlasted Alma's Kaitlyn Arnold (Jackson, Mich.) by four seconds, winning with a time of 21:21.4. Calvin's Lauren Strohbehn (Stillwater, Minn.) captured third place with her finish in 21:40.1, and Jessica Shaw (Allegan, Mich.) of Albion took fourth overall with her time of 21:52.4. Calvin's Johanna Admiraal (Cincinnati, Ohio) completed the top five with a time of 22.00.7.
