• #1 Calvin stayed unbeaten on the year with a trio of MIAA wins to start conference play. The Knights tallied a pair of 3-0 home wins against Olivet Saint Mary's and added a 3-1 road win over Adrian. Anna Kamp (Jr., OH, Orland Park, Ill.) improved her career best in kills with 22 over Adrian Sept. 8.
• #21 Hope also went 3-0 against MIAA challengers to start league play, winning at Trine Sept. 6 and Adrian Sept. 9 while adding a 3-0 home win over Olivet Sept. 8.
• Olivet went 2-2 on the week, with their two setbacks coming at nationally-ranked foes in Calvin and Hope. In their 3-1 victory over Albion Sept. 9, Morgan Champion (So., OH, Delton, Mich.) registered a match-best 15 kills.
• Saint Mary's had a 2-1 week against MIAA opponents, defeating Alma and Kalamazoo before a 3-0 setback to #1 Calvin Sept. 9.
• Earning MIAA Athlete of the Week honors for Sept. 11 were:
- Player: Anna Kamp, Calvin
- Specialist: Audrey Shannon, Saint Mary's
• In the Sept. 12 release of the AVCA Division III poll, Calvin remained #1 nationally, while Hope moved up to #18 in the country.
