Calvin, Hope to Vie for MIAA Volleyball Tournament Title

The MIAA Volleyball Tournament championship game is set after semifinal action Friday evening:

 

Hope 3, Saint Mary's 0

Hope outlasted Saint Mary's in three close sets, 25-20, 25-23, 25-22 to advance to the tournament championship match. Katie Rietberg led the Flying Dutch with 14 kills, while Haley Muller chipped in 11 kills with 10 digs; Muller was one of four Hope players to reach double figures in digs to stymie the Belles' attack. Hope also registered seven aces in the win.

 

Calvin 3, Albion 0

Calvin swung away offensively, hitting .370 for the three-set match and an efficient .429 in the second set on the way to a 25-22, 25-15, 22-16 victory in the semifinals. Sarah DeVries led the way with 20 kills to go with six digs and two assists, while Anna Kamp added 16 kills and six digs. Jenna Lodewyk spread 37 assists while adding seven digs, five kills, and two blocks.
