Calvin's Lodewyk Selected CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year for Volleyball

Calvin College volleyball standout Jenna Lodewyk (Sr., S, Villa Park, Ill.) was named not only a First-Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Wednesday, but was selected as the Academic All-American of the Year by the national media relations organization.

Lodewyk, who has a 3.88 grade-point average in business, becomes the fifth Calvin volleyball player in seven years to be named the CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year for volleyball. She also is the 11th three-time Academic All-American in MIAA history.

The senior setter was a second-team Academic All-American in 2016 and a third-team Academic All-American as a sophomore in 2015.

To be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America accolades, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 GPA on a 4.0 scale and must have completed one full calendar year at the nominating institution as well as selected a first-team All-District student-athlete.
