Calvin's Lodewyk Honored as CoSIDA Academic All-American

FREELAND, Mich. – Jenna Lodewyk, a junior setter on the Calvin NCAA Division III Volleyball champion team, continued to reap season accolades with her selection as an Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Lodewyk was a second-team Academic All-American selection on Tuesday, complementing her third-team honor during the 2015 campaign.

Lodewyk, who is working towards an undergraduate degree in business, owns a 3.86 grade-point average.

On the year, Lodewyk was integral in Calvin's national champion season, as the Knights finished the year with a 33-1 record overall and were the MIAA regular season champions. A second-team All-America selection by the AVCA, the Villa Park, Ill., native averaged 10.29 assists per set in helping direct the Knights' offense. Academically, Lodewyk is a two-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll selection and a three-time Calvin Dean's List honoree.

Student-athletes must have sophomore academic standing at their institutions and have a cumulative grade-point average at 3.30 or higher and been a first-team academic all-district selection to move onto the national ballot.
