FREELAND, Mich. – Ami Milligan, a senior setter on the Albion volleyball team, was named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week for her efforts last week in aiding the Brits to a 3-0 week.

Milligan, a native of Alpena, Mich., aided Albion in defeating nationally-ranked Hope Oct. 18 marking the team's first victory over Hope since the 2004 season. The victory was also the program's first three-set win over a ranked opponent, as Milligan handed out 34 assists and accumulated 16 digs. Her setting aided the Brits in hitting .255 in the decisive third set over Hope.

For the week, Milligan averaged 9.81 assists and 4.36 digs per set in the team's 3-0 week; the team's efforts also guaranteed the program's second consecutive winning season, marking the first time in program history the Brits have done so.
