Seven Advance to NCAA Women's Track and Field Championship to Represent MIAA

Seven Women's Track and Field athletes will represent the MIAA at the 2018 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Albion's Cassie Vince will compete in the 10,000m run; she is seeded fourth after a season-best time of 35:10.58. Calvin's Katie Diekema is seeded fifth in the women's 1,500m run, with a season-best time of 4:30.89. Other notable entrants include Trine's Kara Eck, who is seeded 14th in the Hammer and was recently announced as a finalist for the Honda Inspiration Award; and MIAA Most Valuable Field Athlete at the 2018 MIAA Championship, Allison Rich of Hope.

For each women’s individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.

The championships will be held May 24-26 at the Veteran’s Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
