Adrian will begin the indoor track and field season Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Trine Invitational.
Albion
Alma
Alma traveled to Saginaw Valley State University on Friday (Dec. 7) to begin their 2018-19 indoor season at the SVSU Holiday Classic. Senior Erin Goggins (Hastings, Mich./Hastings) took eighth place in the women's pole vault event, reaching a height of 3.04 meters while Grace Hearth (Freeland, Mich./Valley Lutheran) finished in a tie for tenth place in the high jump, landing just .02 meters shy of her personal-best.
Calvin
Calvin opened up its 2018-19 indoor season on Friday night at the Grand Valley Holiday Open. The Knights had three individuals compete at the meet. Sophomore Renee Miller (Marlette, Mich./Marlett) ran 11.03 in the 60 meter hurdles and posted a jump of 16-11 1/2 in the long jump. Senior Alyssa Roels (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian) clocked a time of 1:52.23 in the 600 meters. Junior Margaret Van Wylen (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian) recorded a time of 2:33.71 in the 800 meters.
Hope
Hope College distance runner Emily Hamilton (Naperville, Ill./North) bettered her own school record during the Grand Valley State University Holiday Open on Friday. The senior clocked a converted 5,000-meter time of 17:44.02; Hamilton's previous indoor best was 17:54.93. Hamilton finished 21st in the meet that featured teams from all three NCAA divisions. Hope scored in one event with a limited roster competing. Senior Sarah Neumar (Ann Arbor, Mich./Huron) placed seventh in the 1-mile run (5:27.05). The Flying Dutch finished 20th in the 4x400 relay with freshmen Hayley Scollard, Sophie Hall, and Ann Grunewald, and sophomore Emily Tyner going 4:34.86.
Olivet
Olivet will wait until the turn of the calendar year to begin the season, participating in the Jack Skoog Open Jan. 11 at Central Michigan.
Trine
Competed at the unscored Indiana Tech Aaron Porter Invite. Jensyn Garrow won the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.49 seconds.
