Trine women's indoor track and field student-athlete Kara Eck (Sr., Throws, Auburn, Ind.) received national honors Tuesday with her selection as the NCAA Division III Women's Track and Field National Athlete of the Week by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Eck, the 2017 MIAA Champion in the weight throw and NCAA All-American after her seventh-place finish in the event last season, improved her personal best to 18.45m while competing at the Oiler Opener. Her effort now ranks first through the second week of NCAA Division III competition.
