MIAA Women's Indoor Track & Field Week #4 Wrap-Up

• Adrian competed at Ohio Northern's Joe Banks Invitational Feb. 4, finishing in sixth out of 15 teams. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was the 4x200m relay team that took first with a time of 1:47.86. Takiyah Smith (Sr., Rochester, Mich.) added two second-place finishes in the 60m hurdles (9.41) and high jump (1.52m) to go with a third place finish with the team's 4x400m relay team.

• In their first competition of the spring semester, Albion competed at the Anderson University Indoor Invitational Feb. 4. Albion placed third out of six teams, but were within two points of first-place Manchester. Nia Thomas (So., Honolulu, Hawaii) had a leg on Albion's winning 4x200m relay and 4x400m relay teams and claimed the long jump with an effort of 16 feet, 11.5 inches.

• Calvin finished second out of four teams at the Grand Rapids Hall of Fame Classic Feb. 3, hosted by Aquinas. Individual winners were Jenna Dyksen (Jr., Hawthorne, N.J.) in the triple jump (36 feet, 7 inches) and Bethany Love (Sr., Kentwood, Mich.) in the shot put (40 feet, 10.25 inches).

• Hope placed third out of 13 teams at the University of Chicago Windy City Invitational Feb. 4, posting a win in the distance medley relay. Alison Rich (Jr., Haslett, Mich.) was second in the pentathlon (2,999 points).

• Olivet competed in the two-day Hillsdale Wide Track Classic Feb. 3-4. Saturday's events were highlighted by Isabelle Leon (Jr., Grand Rapids, Mich.) and her Olivet-record breaking time of 5:30.33 in the 1-mile run. Kimberly Barber (So., Gobles, Mich.) had a career-best with a time of 27.66 seconds in the 200m dash on Friday.

• Trine saw three program records topped at the Indiana Wesleyan University Midwest Classic Feb. 4. Jenna Gales (Fr., Mendon, Mich.) set two Thunder records, with her time of 58.55 in the 400m dash to take third and rank 16th nationally, and her 26.71 in the 200m dash, which was also good for third place.
