• Albion's first competition of the spring season brought a 5-4 win over Holy Cross College Jan. 27. The Britons tallied straight-set wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles as well as No. 2 doubles; Holy Cross forfeited at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles for Albion's remaining points.
• Hope faced stiff competition in their spring opener against NCAA Division I foe Valparaiso Jan. 27, falling to the Crusaders, 6-3. Liz Pniewski (So., Lowell, Mich.) battled back for a three-set win at No. 6 singles, winning 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. It was one of two singles wins and one doubles victory for the Flying Dutch.
