• Albion started the spring with a 6-3 win over Wittenberg Feb. 11, as Lauren Rasmussen (Sr., Ann Arbor, Mich.) was a winner at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles. In singles play, Rasmussen rose up with a back-and-forth match before winning 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (5-7), 1-0 (11-9).

• Calvin cruised to a season-opening 9-0 win over Cornerstone Feb. 9. Ellie Benzel (Sr., San Dimas, Calif.) made quick work of her foes, pairing with Claire Spoelhof (Sr., Holland, Mich.) for an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles before sweeping her No. 3 singles match, 6-0, 6-0.

• Hope registered a 6-3 victory over No. 24 Kenyon Feb. 10 thanks to five singles victories. Nancy Benda (Sr., Birmingham, Mich.) was a two-time winner for the Flying Dutch, notching a win at No. 1 doubles before a straight-set win at No. 1 singles.

• Kalamazoo came up short in a 7-2 setback to No. 24 Kenyon Feb. 12 in their 2017 opener. Maria Franco (Jr., Quito, Equador) upended No. 47 Diana Aboubakare at No. 1 singles, 7-5, 6-3.

• Olivet notched a 6-3 victory over Indiana Tech Feb. 12 in their spring opener. Miranda Pier (Fr., Woodhaven, Mich.) failed to drop a game in her No. 3 doubles win with teammate Taylor Robbins (Fr., Traverse City, Mich.) as well as her No. 5 singles victory.
