Hope, Kalamazoo advance for MIAA Women's Tennis Championship

Thursday's semifinal competition saw top-seeded Hope advance while Kalamazoo upset Calvin on the road to shape Friday's championship match at 4 p.m. at Hope.

Hope 5, Saint Mary's 0

Host and top-seed Hope took doubles and then added wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles to clinch the team win. Amanda Bandrowski was dominant in both of her matches, aiding in an 8-1 No. 2 doubles win along with her 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles.

Kalamazoo 5, Calvin 1

In a rematch of the regular season finale for both teams, Kalamazoo started with a 2-1 lead after doubles and then added singles wins at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 6 positions for the road win. Maria Franco and Lauren Hanselman wrapped up the Hornets' win with their No. 1 and No. 2 singles wins, repsectively.
