For the first time since 2009, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association will have two teams representing the nine-team conference at the national tournament, as both automatic bid team Adrian College along with at-large berth Hope College will participate in the 2018 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.
The 64-team field will begin competition with first-round action Nov. 9-10 and second-round play Nov. 10-11 at host institutions. The championship will culminate with the final four teams facing off Nov. 30-Dec. 1 at UNCG Soccer Stadium in Greensboro, N.C.
Adrian (14-5-1), making their first-ever appearance in the national championship, will take on American Rivers Conference automatic qualifier Loras in a neutral field contest hosted by Wheaton (Ill.) Friday, Nov. 9. The winner of Adrian/Loras will take on either Wheaton or Northwestern (Minn.) in the second round.
Hope (14-2-2), the MIAA regular season champion, will make their sixth appearance in the NCAA Championship and will take on Bridgewater (Va.) Friday, Nov. 9 in a neutral field game hosted by Otterbein. The winner of Hope/Bridgewater will face the winner of Otterbein/Dominican (Ill.) in second round action Saturday, Nov. 10.
