The Adrian College women's soccer team will make its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship, as the Bulldogs defeated Hope College 1-0 in the title game of the 2018 MIAA Women's Soccer Tournament at Hope's Van Andel Stadium Saturday afternoon.

A header by McKenna Mahoney found a gap between Hope goalkeeper Jordanne Ellingboe and the crossbar in the 13th minute for the game's lone score. Mahoney's header was set up by a corner kick from Angela Davis and another header by Rachel Rodeheffer; it was Adrian's lone corner kick of the game.

Adrian's Ayverie Giller came up with four saves to post the shutout. Hope out-shot Adrian 12-2, including an 8-0 advantage in the second half.

The 2018 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship field will be announced Monday, Nov. 5 on ncaa.com.
