Hope Captures MIAA Women's Soccer Tournament Championship

Hope 2, Olivet 1

Hope (18-2-1) scored in the 26th and 68th minutes to rally from an early one-goal deficit to defeat Olivet 2-1 in the championship contest of the 2017 MIAA Women's Soccer Tournament. The Flying Dutch will represent the MIAA in the 2017 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.

Megan Bigelow registered Hope's first-half goal and assisted on the game-winner by teammate Rachael Braginton in the second half to fuel the Hope attack. 

Olivet (13-7-1) scored just 55 seconds into the contest, when senior and MIAA Most Valuable Player Isabelle Leon broke through on the left side and slotted home a shot to the far post for a 1-0 lead.

Olivet goalkeeper Samantha Gifford made 13 of the Comets' 14 saves as Hope out-shot Olivet 24-5.

The 2017 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship field will be announced on ncaa.com Monday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. ET.
