KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Thirteen Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's soccer players received honors this week from the United Soccer Coaches with their listing on the 2017 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Women's All-Central Region teams.
Leading the way were three first-team all-region selections: Hope's Grace Bubin (Jr., F, Rockford, Mich.) and Allie Wittenbach (Sr., F, Ada, Mich.) along with 2017 MIAA Most Valuable Player, Olivet's Isabelle Leon (Sr., F, Grand Rapids, Mich.).
Four different MIAA programs were represented on the second team: Adrian's Caroline Fleming (So., F, Grosse Ile, Mich.), Calvin's Camie Rietberg (Sr., M, Wyoming, Mich.), Hope's Rylie Dalton (Jr., M, Rockford, Mich.), and Kalamazoo's Libby Munoz (So., F, Leland, Mich.).
Third team honorees included Adrian's Rachel Rodeheffer (So., D, Commerce Twp., Mich.), Albion's Sarah Castellano (Jr., D, Northville, Mich.), Alma's Amanda Mladenovski (Sr., D, Shelby Twp., Mich.), Calvin's Abby Koops (Fr., M, Holland, Mich.), Kalamazoo's Sarah George (Jr., D, Royal Oak, Mich.), and Trine's Kristina Veljovic (Sr., G, Valparaiso, Ind.) - giving the MIAA half of the 12 players listed on the third team.
In all, eight MIAA programs were represented on the United Soccer Coaches' All-Central Region teams.
