The Hope College women's soccer team (18-2-1) will take on UW-Whitewater Friday, Nov. 10 in Chicago for the first round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.

Hope, currently one of the national leaders in goals-against average, earned their NCAA Championship berth after claiming the 2017 MIAA Women's Soccer Tournament Championship by virtue of a 2-1 victory over Olivet Nov. 4. The Flying Dutch were also the 2017 MIAA regular season champions.

UW-Whitewater (14-3-4) is an at-large berth out of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference after losing in penalty kicks in the WIAC Tournament title contest versus UW-La Crosse. Hope and UW-Whitewater shared one common opponent in 2017 in Milwaukee School of Engineering; Hope posted a 4-2 victory Sept. 1, while the Warhawks were 4-0 winners over MSOE Sept. 23.

The winner of Hope/UW-Whitewater will face the winner between Chicago (17-1-0) and St. Catherine (9-6-4) Saturday, Nov. 11. The 2017 NCAA national semifinals and national championship will take place Dec. 1-2 at UNCG Soccer Stadium in Greensboro, North Carolina.
