Saturday's MIAA Women's Soccer Tournament final set with Hope, Alma

The MIAA Women's Soccer Tournament final game is set after semifinal action Thursday evening:

Alma 1, Kalamazoo 1 (2OT) - Alma advances 3-2 on PKs

Top-seeded Kalamazoo rallied to force overtime against Alma Thursday night, but the Scots prevailed 3-2 in penalty kicks to advance to the championship contest Saturday afternoon at Hope. Alma's Megan Kalanik (Sr., M, Milford, Mich.) scored just three minutes into the game before the Hornets equalized midway the second half. After 110 minutes, spot kicks were needed to decide which team would advance; Alma converted on their first three while Kalamazoo missed their last three attempts.

Hope 4, Calvin 0

The Flying Dutch posted three goals in the first half - including a key score less than 90 seconds from the halftime break - in cruising to a 4-0 victory over Calvin Thursday evening. Kendal Dice (Sr., M, Allendale, Mich.) scored in the 19th minute, and Elizabeth Perkins (Sr., F, Eaton Rapids, Mich.) tallied her 23rd goal of the season just 62 seconds later to set the tone. Hope out-shot Calvin 17-2 on the night.
