Five from Women's Soccer Reap NSCAA All-Scholar Awards

FREELAND, Mich. – Five women's soccer players from four Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association institutions earned recognition Friday for their success in competition and in the classroom by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with their selections to the 2016 NSCAA NCAA Division III Women's Scholar All-America and Scholar All-Region teams.

Leading the way was Hope's Elizabeth Perkins, who earned Third-Team Scholar All-America accolades from the NSCAA to go with her First-Team Scholar All-North/Central Region selection. Perkins, the 2016 MIAA Most Valuable Player, is a double major in psychology and Spanish with a 3.98 grade-point average.

Also earning Scholar All-North/Central Region honors were Kalamazoo's Grace Smith and Christina Dandar, who joined Alma's Macayla Greiner on the Second Team, while Calvin's Kailey Jo was a third team honoree.
