FREELAND, Mich. – Nine women's soccer players representing four Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association soccer programs were recognized Tuesday for their standout seasons on the field with the release of the 2016 NSCAA NCAA Division III Women's All-Central Region teams.
Hope and Kalamazoo, who shared the 2016 MIAA regular season title, each had three players selected to the all-region squads. MIAA Tournament runners-up Alma had two selections, while Calvin had one award winner.
Hope's Elizabeth Perkins was named a First Team honoree and will be eligible for NSCAA All-America honors. Second team selections were Kalamazoo's Christina Dandar and Paige Sambor, Hope's Natalie Curry and Erin Brophy, and Alma's Macayla Greiner. Listed on the NSCAA's Central Region Third Team were Kalamazoo's Grace Smith, Calvin's Kailey Jo, and Alma's Whitnee Foote.
