No. 16 Hope Women's Soccer Edged By No. 24 Wheaton At Home

A nationally ranked opponent's early flurry made the Hope College women's soccer team play from behind for just the second time this season. The 16th-ranked Flying Dutch battled back but suffered their first loss of 2015 with a 2-1 defeat to No. 24 Wheaton, Illinois on Tuesday at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.

Sophomore Erin Brophy of West Lafayette, Indiana (West Lafayette HS), scored for Hope. She earned her third goal of the season by heading in a deflection off the crossbar in the 16th minute.

Wheaton struck for two goals in the first seven minutes.

Hope rallied to outshoot Wheaton by an 18-12 margin. Both teams put five shots on goal.

The Flying Dutch are now 10-1 on the season. Ten games is the longest win streak to start a season in team history. Wheaton is now 7-3 overall.
