Five MIAA Programs Tabbed 2016 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads

GRAND LAKE, Colo. – On Wednesday (July 27), The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association named 275 schools as IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads for their academic performances during the 2015-16 academic year. Of those winners, five Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association programs were recognized.

Albion, the MIAA's regular season champion, and Calvin, the conference's tournament title winners, were joined by Alma, Hope, and Saint Mary's among the 275 lacrosse programs competing at the NCAA Division I, II, or III level as well as NAIA to achieve the academic standard set by the IWLCA. Teams were required to compile a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the academic year.
