Around the MIAA

Adrian

Adrian competed in two MIAA Jamboree events separated by three days, finishing seventh at the Knollwood Golf Club and eighth at the Ravines Golf Club. The Bulldogs were able to improve seven shots by the latter event. Junior Brooke Symons led the way both times, shooting an 86 (T-8th) at Knollwood and then an 88 (T-28th) at The Ravines. Adrian closes the month of September on Saturday (1 p.m.) for the MIAA Jamboree #4 at the Millham Park Golf Club, hosted by Kalamazoo College. Symons is 13th on the MIAA leaderboard with an 84.7 stroke average, followed by sophomore transfer Hailey Scott in 23rd at 88.3


Albion

Megan Moco (Grosse Ile) has been steady this season. In five rounds, all of her scores have ranged between 80-85…Albion put Bailey Downs (Munising) in the lineup for the first time this season in the MIAA Jamboree at the Knollwood Country Club last Saturday, and she responded with a round of 94 that counted toward the Britons total.


Alma

The Alma women's golf team is in fifth place in the MIAA standings after the second MIAA Jamboree over the weekend. The Scots have 718 strokes, just four strokes behind Calvin for third place and two behind Olivet for fourth place. Senior Tori Basso (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion) led Alma with an 82, tied for second place at the Knollwood Country Club in Granger, Ind.


Calvin

Hope

The Hope College women's golf team finished second at the second MIAA Jamboree on Saturday played at Knollwood Country Club in Granger, Indiana. The Flying Dutch posted a team total of 351. Host Saint Mary's College won the event with a 324. Sophomore Jordyn Rioux led the Flying Dutch with a round of 86. The Flying Dutch also stand in second in the overall league standings with a 683.


Kalamazoo

The Kalamazoo College women's golf team tied for eighth place at the MIAA Jamboree hosted by Saint Mary's at Knollwood this past Saturday. Kalamazoo shot 389 overall to tie Trine. Both teams were four strokes out of seventh place. Darby Scott tied for eighth overall with an 86. Cydney Martell followed with a 91. Heather Muir (101) and Claire Kalina (111) rounded out the top four.


Olivet

The Olivet College women's golf team placed sixth at the MIAA Jamboree #2, played at the Knollwood Country Club in Granger, Indiana. Junior Nicole Deweyert tied for 11th-place in the player standings with an 87. Sophomore Crystal Lettinga was the only golfer to have an eagle, as she had a three on the par 5, 479-yard No. 13.


Saint Mary's

The Saint Mary's golf team won the second MIAA Jamboree by 27 strokes over the field to build a 33-stroke lead one-third of the way through conference play. Taylor Kehoe was the round medalist with a 77 as she sunk a birdie on the par-five 13th hole and led the field with 11 pars.
