Trine women's basketball player Brandi Dawson (Jr., Garrett, Ind.) was honored Monday on the national level with her selection to D3hoops.com's National Team of the Week, the online publication announced.
Last week, Dawson averaged 23.0 points per game while shooting 66.7 percent from the field in two MIAA road wins, including Trine's 58-55 victory at #2/3 Hope Jan. 27 to give the Flying Dutch their first loss of the season. Against Hope, Dawson had 25 points on 12-of-15 shooting from the field and eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for career scoring in her third season at Trine.
Against Calvin in Trine's 49-46 win Jan. 24, Dawson scored 21 points with six rebounds, shooting 8-of-15 from the field and 5-of-6 from the line.
