• Albion went 2-0 against MIAA opponents last week, including an 82-55 win over Saint Mary's Jan. 21. Emily Zgoda (Sr., G, Wyandotte, Mich.) registered a game-high 20 points for the Brits in the win. Albion fired a blistering 79 percent from the field in the fourth quarter in their 85-61 win over Kalamazoo Jan. 18, as Oreyanna Curry (Sr., G, Dearborn Heights, Mich.) scored a game-best 16 points to lead five players in double figures. Zgoda added 15 points and four steals.
• Calvin tallied both an MIAA and non-conference win on the week, improving their winning streak to five games. The Knights defeated Kalamazoo Jan. 21, 81-50, with Ali Spayde (Jr., G, Lewis Center, Ohio) leading the offense with 21 points and seven assists. Anna Timmer (Sr., F, Caledonia, Mich.) chipped in 15 points and 14 rebounds. In Calvin's 67-52 win over Rochester College Jan. 18, Spayde tallied 22 points while Timmer nabbed 20 rebounds.
• Hope took sole possession of first place in the MIAA race with their 76-65 road win over No. 24 Trine Jan. 18. Despite a 33-point performance by Trine's Brandi Dawson (So., G, Garrett, Ind.), the Flying Dutch forced 26 turnovers. Tyra Smith (Jr., G, Grand Rapids, Mich.) led four players in double figures in scoring for Hope. The Flying Dutch then followed up with a 67-55 road win against Adrian Jan. 21, with Francesca Buchanan (So., F, Grant, Mich.) leading all scorers with 20 points.
• Kalamazoo's Grace Smith (Sr., G, Portage, Mich.) saw her first action of the season, notching six points on 3-of-4 shooting in the Hornets' 81-50 loss against Calvin.
