Four MIAA student-athletes earn Academic All-District honors from CoSIDA

FREELAND, Mich. – Four student-athletes representing the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association on the basketball court were recognized Thursday for their success both on the field and in the classroom with the release of the College Sports Information Directors of America's Academic All-District teams.

Three men's and one women's player from the MIAA were named First-team Academic All-District performers, and all four will advance to their respective national ballot to be considered for Academic All-America. Student-athletes must have sophomore academic standing at their institutions and have a cumulative grade-point average at 3.30 or higher.

For the women, Calvin's Anna Timmer (Sr., F, Caledonia, Mich.) was named to the Academic All-District 6 team, comprised of Division III programs from Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Also earning Academic All-District 6 honors for the men were Alma's Chase Fairchild (Sr., G, Rockford, Mich.) and Hope's Harrison Blackledge (Sr., F, Canton, Ohio). Trine's Will Dixon (Sr., G, Indianapolis, Ind.) was named to the Academic All-District 7, which is made up of Division III institutions from Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.
