Week #7 Wrap for March 26-April 1
• Calvin added four wins last week, with three going less than seven innings, on the way to garnering national rankings by the NFCA. The Knights opened MIAA play with shutouts over Adrian March 30; Anna Gernant (Jr., West Des Moines, Iowa) struck out nine in a five-inning no-hitter. For the week, Grace Stock (Fr., Vicksburg, Mich.) was 10-for-11 at the plate with five extra-base hits.
• #23 Hope started their home slate last week, going 3-1 in non-conference action. Hope outlasted Aurora March 28 in the second game of a doubleheader sweep, 1-0; Jo Cook (Fr., Birch Run, Mich.) had two of the team's three hits, scoring the game's lone run in the bottom of the second inning.
• Saint Mary's extended their winning streak to five games with four wins last week, with three going less than seven innings. After a doubleheader sweep at Manchester March 26, the Belles tallied two wins at ALbion March 30 to open MIAA play.
• #6 Trine started MIAA play with a series split at Alma March 28 before a doubleheader sweep at home against Olivet March 30. Against Olivet, Trine's Kaylee Fox (Sr., Vermillion, Ohio) went 4-for-4 with all four hits being home runs; Fox also earned four walks on the day.
• Earning MIAA Athlete of the Week honors for April 2 were:
- Pitcher: Anna Gernant, Calvin
- Position: Grace Stock, Calvin, and Kaylee Fox, Trine
• In the April 4 release of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 Coaches Poll, Trine remained in the top 10 with a No. 9 ranking, while Hope remained at No. 23 nationally for the second week. Calvin made its national ranking debut at No. 20.
