Week #4 Wrap for March 12-18
• Albion split a weekend doubleheader with Bluffton March 17, which included a 5-4 game-one win. Lauren Beougher (Fr., Merrill, Mich.) hit what proved to be the game-clinching RBI with a sac fly in the fourth inning.
• Calvin remained unbeaten with two victories March 17 to start their trip through Florida. The Knights outlasted Chicago, 5-4 in nine innings, before halting Wesleyan (Conn.) in six innings, 9-1. Their 6-0 start is the best in program history.
• Hope tallied three wins in their first four games in Florida last week, starting with a two-hitter in a 9-0 win over Bethany (W. Va.) March 16. Sydney Jones (Sr., South Lyon, Mich.) went the distance, striking out 12 in the contest.
• Kalamazoo split their doubleheader with Defiance March 17, posting a 7-6 win in the opener. A five-run first inning fueled the Hornets, while Sammi Luzadre (Fr., Niles, Mich.) tossed the complete-game win while striking out six.
• Olivet won their final five games of their spring trip to Florida to improve to 11-3 overall; to note, the Comets posted 15 victories on the season. Kinslea Blouin (So., Bronson, Mich.) had a .857 slugging percentage for the six-game stretch, with four games with at least two hits.
• Saint Mary's improved to 13-1 overall with seven more wins in Florida last week. Cassie Young (Sr., South Bend, Ind.) had at least one hit in all eight contests last week, with five multi-hit games.
• #5 Trine finished with a 1-1 record on the week after two games were cancelled at the DePauw Tournament March 17-18. In the Thunder's 8-7 win over DePauw, Mercede Daugherty (Fr., Watervilet, Mich.) hit a two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning to secure the win.
