Hope was able to hand Alma their first doubleheader sweep of the MIAA season to not only earn a share of the 2017 MIAA regular season title, but secure the top seed and the right to host the MIAA Softball Tournament May 4-5 at Wolters Softball Stadium. Joining Hope and Alma at the double-elimination tournament are No. 3 seed Saint Mary's and No. 4 seed Trine.

• Alma added a non-conference win thanks to a no-hitter by Morgan Stratton (Sr., P, Grand Blanc, Mich.) against Manchester April 24 before a doubleheader sweep of Adrian April 27. Stratton pitched both wins over the Bulldogs, adding a two-hit shutout in the nightcap of the twinbill. Danielle Service (Sr., C, Mason, Mich.) added a home run and a double in the two-game set, with her home run in the second game providing all the offense Alma needed in the 1-0 win.
• A pair of doubleheader sweeps against two top conference teams to end the regular season pushed Hope into the top spot in the MIAA standings. The Flying Dutch took two from nationally-ranked Trine April 26, including a 14-5 5-inning contest in the nightcap. In that game, Hope tallied seven hits for seven runs in the third inning. Hope then swept league-leading Alma to share the regular season title with the Scots, utilizing a two-run 10th to defeat Alma in the regular season finale.
• Saint Mary's added a pair of non-conference wins heading into the MIAA tournament, sweeping North Park on the road April 28. In the Belles' 7-0 game-one shutout, Morgan Raymer (Jr., P, Mt. Washington, Ky.) pitched five innings of no-hit ball with six strikeouts.
• Trine hit the 30-win plateau with a season-ending sweep of Adrian April 29. Kaylee Fox (Jr., 1B, Vermillion, Ohio) became the all-time home runs leader in Trine history with her 43rd home run in the second game, a 5-0 victory for the Thunder.
