Two Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association softball standouts were among the 50 NCAA Division III softball players named to the Schutt Sports/National Fastpitch Coaches Association National Player of the Year Watch List.
Alma's Morgan Stratton (Sr., P, Grand Blanc, Mich.) and Saint Mary's Cassie Young (Jr., OF, South Bend, Ind.) represented the MIAA on the preseason watch list.
Young, who was an All-Region performer last season, is the first player in Saint Mary's history to be on the preseason watch list. Stratton was a second-team All-American by the NFCA last spring.
