Three Teams to Represent MIAA in NCAA Softball Championships

Three teams will represent the MIAA in the 2017 NCAA Division III Softball Championships, with MIAA Tournament champion Alma also earning the opportunity to host regional action. Joining Alma (27-8) in the postseason tournament are Trine (32-8) and Hope (25-13). 

Alma will host Illinois Wesleyan, Otterbin, and DePauw; the Scots will take on DePaul Friday at 3:30 p.m. in the double-elimination regional.

Trine and Hope are the No. 2 and No. 4 seeds, respectively, at the UW-Whitewater Regional. First-round play is set for Thursday, May 11, with Trine vs. Greenville slated for 1 p.m., and Hope/UW-Whitewater to follow at 3:30 p.m. 

Winners will advance to the Super Regionals May 19-20, and the remaining eight teams will advance to the finals May 25-30 at Oklahoma City.
