The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Trine righthander Bree Fuller its Pitcher of the Week in softball for games played through May 1.
Fuller, a senior from Hubbardston (Fulton HS), posted a 3-1 record with a 2.06 earned run average in the MIAA tournament. Twice she came out of the bullpen to get the victory as Trine came from behind to win, including the tournament championship game against Alma, when she hurled two innings of scoreless ball, allowing only one hit, as the Thunder rallied to edge the Scots 8-7 to clinch a berth in the NCAA Division III tournament. She also threw a complete game seven-hitter in a 10-2 tournament win over Saint Mary's. Fuller is being honored as Pitcher of the Week for the first time this season and sixth time in her career.
