• Adrian, Alma, Olivet, and Trine competed at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble Oct. 14, with Trine turning in the top MIAA team finish with a fifth-place effort in a field of 31 teams. Alma captured 21st place, follwed by Olivet (25th) and Adrian (31st). Trine's Duke Lewis (Sr., Greentown, Ind.) was 12th overall, while Olivet's Bruce Baker (Sr., Charlotte, Mich.) placed 17th.

• In a preview of the 2017 NCAA Championships course at Principia Oct. 14, Albion, Calvin, and Kalamazoo ran at the 38-team Cowbell Classic. Calvin placed ninth overall, with Andrew Philipose (Sr., Mount Prospect, Ill.) taking 21st overall with a time of 25:35.8. Albion placed 18th, while Kalamazoo posted a 31st place finish.

• Hope finished fourth at the Muskegon CC Invite Oct. 13 in a field of 17 teams. Ryan Holman (Jr., Holmen, Wis.) was 23rd overall as the top finisher for the Flying Dutchmen.

• Earning MIAA Athlete of the Week honors for Oct. 16 was:

• In the Oct. 17 release of the USTFCCCA regional rankings, Calvin maintained their hold on first overall while Albion dropped to ninth in the region.
