• Alma, Hope, and Kalamazoo were part of the 22-team field at Calvin's Knight Invitational Sept. 9. Calvin was victorious in the 8K event, scoring 32 points as a team; leading the Knights was Mark DeJong (Sr., Grand Rapids, Mich.) and his time of 25:08. Alma was second-best among MIAA schools with a 12th-place effort; Kalamazoo took 18th as a team, while Hope placed 21st.

• Hope and Trine traveled to the 18-team Ohio Wesleyan Invitational Sept. 9, where Trine finished second overall; the Thunder were bolstered by a third-place finish by Lewis Duke (Sr., Greentown, Ind.) and his time of 25:45.3. Hope finished seventh overall.

• Earning MIAA Athlete of the Week honors for Sept. 11 was:

In the Sept. 12 release of the USTFCCCA regional rankings, the MIAA features three teams in the top five in the Great Lakes Region; top-ranked Calvin is joined by No. 3 Albion and No. 5 Trine.
