NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced this week regional and national rankings for NCAA Division III mens's cross country programs, with defending MIAA champion Calvin earning both national and regional recognition.

The Knights were ranked 15th nationally in the organization's preseason poll, one of four Great Lakes region teams listed in the top 35 entering the 2017 season.

On Aug. 29, the USTFCCCA released regional rankings, where Calvin topped the Great Lakes Region. Albion ranked seventh in the regional preseason poll.

The 2017 campaign begins this weekend for MIAA men's cross country teams, with seven teams in action.
