Calvin took a slim one-point lead through four events, with depth in the 10,000m run aiding in the team's point output.

In the lone final on the track Thursday, Olivet's Bruce Baker won the 10,000m run with a program-record time of 32:06.51, marking the first 10,000m win by an Olivet runner in MIAA history.

In field events, Albion's Kejuan Frazier followed up his indoor win in the shot put with an outdoor title in the same event with a throw of 15.50m. It was the second field win of the day for the Britons, as Andrew Stzelecki was the champion in the javelin throw with a mark of 48.90m.

Jeffery Barnett of Trine was the winner in the long jump (6.99m) to defend his title in the event.

Women's Recap

Hope took the early lead through five scored events on Thursday, including Addyson Gerig's win in the high jump to lead a 1-2 Hope finish in the event. 

Trine's tandem of Kara Eck (hammer) and Andrea Hagar (discus) grabbed wins in the throws; Eck's hammer win (53.23m) marked her fourth MIAA title in the event and was her season-best throw to move her in the top 10 nationally. Hagar also set a season best with her throw of 42.49m in the discus.

Calvin's Jenna Dyksen (ling jump, 5.63m) and Albion's Cassie Vince (37:35.56) also captured individual titles on Thursday.
