MIAA Men's Outdoor Track & Field Week #2 Wrap-Up

• Albion faced a strong field at the Polar Bear Invitational March 25, where Kiehl Smith (Fr., Jonesville, Mich.) had top-eight times in both the 800m run (1:59.57) and 1500m run (4:08.37) while also aiding Albion's 4x400m relay team to a third-place finish.

• Alma competed at the Cedarville Yellow Jacket Open March 25, as John Mitrzyk (Fr., Standish, Mich.) was the top finisher for the Scots with his fifth-place effort in the long jump (6.33m).

• Calvin started their outdoor season at the two-day Montevallo Classic March 24-25. Zac Nowicki (Sr., Comstock Park, Mich.) set a facility record in the 3000m steeplechase, winning in 9:34.58. Mark DeJong (Jr., Grand Rapids, Mich.) was the top collegiate finisher in the 5000m run (15:28.93) to lead five Knights runners in scoring points in the event. 

• Hope took part in the Emory Classic March 24-25, where Nicholas Salomon (Sr., Troy, Mich.) was the runner-up in the 800m run (1:53.11) as the top finish for the Flying Dutchmen.

• Trine had standout performances at the Indiana Wesleyan Polar Bear Invitational March 25. Jeffery Barnett (So., Fremont, Ohio) turned in a time of 22.33 in the 200m dash, which is best in the MIAA this season and 14th nationally. Barnett also aided the 4x400m relay team to a fourth-place finish with a time of 3:29.48.
