Members of five Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's and women's track and field programs will represent the conference at the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships May 25-27 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
Student-athletes representing the MIAA will compete in six events on the men's side and nine events for the women. Of note, on the women's side, Hope's Erin Herrmann has the top qualifying time in the 3,000m Steeplechase (10:27.23) while Trine's Kara Eck is ranked second in the Hammer (57.62m); Calvin's Ethan Valentine is ranked third in the 400m dash (47.46) on the men's side.
For each men’s individual event contested, including the decathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each women’s individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition.
