• Adrian started their 2018 indoor season with a strong showing at Trine's Keith Turner Alumni Invitational Jan. 20. Idris Daranijoh had three top-five finishes, placing second in the long jump (6.51m), fourth in the high jump (1.80m) and fifth in 60m hurdles (9.18).

• Alma had two first-place efforts at the Aquinas Quad Jan. 19, as John Mitzryk (So., Standish, Mich.) won the long jump (6.63m) and Payton Hirschenberger (So., Freeland, Mich.) was victorious in the triple jump (12.97m).

• Calvin placed second against a field of 12 teams at the SPIRE Institute, hosted by Carnegie Mellon. Ethan Valentine (Sr., Mason, Ohio) won the 800m run (1:55.03), which ranked seventh nationally through last week's performances.

• In Hope's season debut at Aquinas Quad, the Flying Dutchmen saw their 10-year record in the weight throw fall with Case Gaca (Jr., Kingsley, Mich.) posting a toss of 15.04m. Also adding wins for Hope were Benjamin Pederson (Sr., Mount Prospect, Ill.) in the 3000m run (9:15.98) and Jonah Engelhardt in the 1 mile run (4:46.64).

• Olivet finished fourth at Trine's Keith Turner Alumni Invitational Jan. 20, bolstered by two first-place finishes from Bruce Baker (Sr., Charlotte, Mich.) in the 1000m run (2:42.96) and distance medley relay (11:04.58). John Adams III (Fr., Redford, Mich.) set a school record in the 60m dash (7.08) to finish second in the field, while Jacob Smith (Fr., Sumner, Mich.) broke Olivet's record in the shot put (45'-7").

• Trine was dominant at their own Keith Turner Alumni Invitational Jan. 20 with top performances. Jasper Bassett (Jr., Auburn, Ind.) was a two-time winner, taking victories in the 300m dash (36.36) and 600m run (1:23.29).

• Earning MIAA Athlete of the Week honors for Jan. 22 were:
