The eight student-athletes that represented the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association at the 2017 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships March 10-11 turned in top performances, including four All-America efforts, at the Res Rec Center in Naperville, Ill.

Trine's Jeffery Barnett finished as the national runner-up in the men's long jump, with his effort of 7.18m earning him All-America status as a sophomore. His jump was just 0.17 meters off the national champion and marks the highest finish by a Trine indoor track and field athlete since 2008.

Calvin's Ethan Valentine placed fourth nationally in the 400m dash with his time of 48.87 to garner All-America accolades. His time of 48.87 was among the fastest in his career and gave Calvin their highest individual finish since the 2011 season.

Trine's Kara Eck turned in an All-American performance in the women's weight throw, her third indoor All-America effort of her career. Eck placed seventh in the weight throw with a school-record toss of 17.74 meters, improving on her 13th place seed entering the national championship.

Olivet's Connor Bauserman took seventh in the men's 800m run, crossing the line in 1:54.98 to earn All-America honors. His effort is the second All-America Indoor Track and Field performance by an Olivet athlete in program history.
