Among the highlights from the 2016-17 season:
- Calvin edged Trine thanks to a strong finish in the 3000m run Feb. 25 to win the 2017 MIAA Men's Indoor Track and Field championship.
- At the 2017 NCAA Championships, Trine's Jeffery Barnett had the top finish for the MIAA with his runner-up finish in the long jump. Joining Barnett as an All-American was Calvin's Ethan Valentine (400m dash) and Olivet's Connor Bauserman (800m run).
- Trine's Jeffery Barnett (Field) and Calvin's Ethan Valentine (Track) were named the Most Valuable Performers to lead the All-MIAA honorees.
