MIAA Men's Tennis Week #4 Wrap-Up

• Adrian began their spring season last week, going 4-2 during their spring trip through Florida. The Bulldogs had a notable day Feb. 28, posting an 8-1 win over Otterbein followed by a 9-0 sweep of MSOE. Jeff Sophiea (Jr., Davisburg, Mich.) had two doubles wins and a victory at No. 3 singles to aid in the two-win day.

• Alma posted a 6-3 win over Defiance Feb. 28, with Evan Vergith (Fr., Holly, Mich.) and Noah Ackerman (Jr., Munising, Mich.) each grabbing two wins on the day. Along with their doubles victories, Vergith won at No. 4 doubles, 6-3, 6-0, while Ackerman failed to drop a game in his 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 5 singels.

• Calvin continued their strong start to the season, adding four more victories to improve to 7-0 on the year. In their 9-0 win over Lakeland March 4, the Knights did not drop a single game; later in the day against Wisconsin Lutheran, Calvin's David Brown (Jr., Lake Zurich, Ill.) was an 8-4 winner at No. 1 doubles and added a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles.

• Kalamazoo remained unbeaten on the year with their 6-3 victory over Denison March 5. The Hornets took a 2-1 lead in doubles and sealed their team efforts with four singles victories. Branden Metzler (Sr., Rockford, Ill.) boasted an 8-5 win at doubles and a 6-4, 6-2 No. 1 singles win.
