Among the highlights from the 2016-17 season:
- Kalamazoo went unbeaten during the regular season in 2017, and with a 5-1 win over Calvin in the MIAA Tournament championship game, earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
- The Hornets dropped a close 5-3 decision to Kenyon in the Second Round of the 2017 NCAA Men's Tennis team championships.
- At the NCAA Men's Tennis Individual Championships, Kalamazoo's Branden Metzler advanced to the Semifinal round before falling to eventual champion Lubomir Cuba of Middlebury.
