• Albion defeated Calvin in an MIAA dual Jan. 13, 171-129. Bolstering the Britons was a 1-2-3 finish in the 1000 free, paced by first-place finisher Mac Robertson (So., Zeeland, Mich.). Len Cieminiecki (So., Birmingham, Mich.) touched first in both the 50 free and 100 free while adding a 21.17 split to anchor Albion's winning 200 medley relay.

• Hope hosted the four-team Michigan Illinois Quad Jan. 13, placing second overall. Charlie Emmert (Sr., Grand Blanc, Mich.) won the 200 fly (1:59.10) and Jeff Engle (Jr., Kalamazoo, Mich.) touched first in the 500 free (5:04.31).

• Kalamazoo also raced at Hope's quad, placing third overall. Sharif Shaker (Jr., Castro Valley, Calif.) had two second-place finishes in the 200 free (1:46.53) and the 400 free relay.

• Earning MIAA Athlete of the Week honors for Jan. 16 were:

  - Diving: Jake Burris, Albion
