Eight Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association divers - four men and four women - will represent the league and their institutions at the 2018 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships. With eight representatives, the MIAA is sending the second-most competitors from their respective conferences, trailing only the NEWMAC (nine participants).
For the men, Albion's Jake Burris was the 2018 Central Region Diving Championships runner-up on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards, with teammate Jake Maurer placing third on the 3-meter to advance to nationals. Calvin's Michael Moentmann and Kalamazoo's Colin Grogan also advanced to the national championship with their strong performances at regionals.
On the women's side, Calvin's Sarah Bradley - the 2018 Central Region Diving Champion in both the 1-meter and 3-meter - will be joined by Kalamazoo's Nicki Bailey, Madeline Jump, and Madeline Woods. Bailey, making her first appearance at regionals, finished third on both boards.
The championships will be held March 21-24 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis. Franklin College and the Indiana Sports Corporation will serve as co-hosts.
