Calvin's Vegter Named United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Calvin men's soccer standout Trent Vegter (Hudsonville, Mich.) added another All-America honor following his stellar career with the Knights, as the senior defender was named a First-Team Scholar All-American by the United Soccer Coaches Dec. 10.

Majoring in civil engineering, Vegter was a two-time Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Most Valuable Player and led the Knights to a 22-2-0 record in 2018, a season that culminated in the NCAA Division III National Championship game. 

A four-year starter for Calvin, Vegter was named a United Soccer Coaches All-American for his efforts on the field for the third time of his career this fall. Academically, Vegter was recently named a Google Cloud Academic All-American, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
