Unbeaten Calvin Men's Soccer Faces Thomas More in NCAA First Round

The Calvin College men's soccer team (19-0-1) aims to extend their undefeated season when the Knights challenge Thomas More Friday, Nov. 10 in the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship First Round at University Heights, Ohio.

Calvin, the MIAA regular season and tournament champions, earned the MIAA automatic berth after defeating Adrian 5-0 in the MIAA title game Nov. 4.

The Knights are looking to improve on last season's tournament run, which culminated in their national runner-up finish.

Thomas More was the Presidents' Athletic Conference automatic berth and brings a 14-4-2 record into the postseason. Thomas More and Calvin shared one common opponent in 2017 in Ohio Wesleyan; both teams tallied 2-1 wins over Ohio Wesleyan.

The winner of Calvin/Thomas More will take on the winner of John Carroll (15-2-2) and Ohio Wesleyan (12-6-2) Saturday, Nov. 11. The 2017 NCAA national semifinals and national championship are slated for Dec. 1 and 2 at UNCG Soccer Stadium in Greensboro, North Carolina.
