Calvin Men's Soccer Trio Named D3soccer.com All-Americans
Calvin men's soccer senior Matt Hinds and juniors Jacob Witte and Trent Vegter have been named 2017 D3soccer.com All-Americans.
 
In addition, Vegter has been named the 2017 D3soccer.com National Defender of the Year. It marks the second straight year Vegter has received the award. Vegter has also been named to the D3soccer.com All-America first team for the second straight year while Witte has been named to the second team and Hinds to the third team.
 
"I'm extremely proud to see Matt, Jacob and Trent be recognized by D3soccer.com. It is a great honor for them and for our program," said Calvin men's soccer coach Ryan Souders. "They have all worked hard in contributing to our team's success. Most of all, this collection of awards is a strong reflection on our team as a whole. Every member of our team works together and each member of our team shares in these awards."
 
Calvin recently completed another standout season, winning its 11th consecutive MIAA regular season title as well as its fourth straight MIAA Tournament crown. The Knights finished 21-1-1 overall, reaching the Round of 16 of the NCAA III Tournament for the third consecutive year while also hitting the 20-win plateau for the third consecutive season.
