Four MIAA Men's Soccer Players Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

Four Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's soccer players were honored for their success both in competition and in the classroom Thursday with their selection to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District NCAA Division III District 6 team.

Adrian's Chris Stanhope (Jr., D, Dearborn, Mich.) and Tad Davis (Jr., F, Trenton, Mich.) were joined by Calvin's Trent Vegter and Jacob Witte on the All-District team and are now eligible for Academic All-America honors.

Stanhope and Davis were part of Adrian's record-setting season, aiding the Bulldogs in appearing in their first-ever MIAA Tournament championship game. Stanhope owns a 3.94 grade-point average in exercise science, while Davis is pursuing a degree in business administration with a 3.91 GPA.

Vegter and Witte were key factors in Calvin's undefeated regular season, which included both MIAA regular season and tournament championships. Vegter has a 3.38 GPA in pursuit of a degree in engineering, while Witte has a 3.88 GPA working towards a degree in speech pathology.

CoSIDA's NCAA Division III District 6 includes Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Members of CoSIDA from the district vote on Academic All-District honors. Student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 GPA on a 4.0 scale and must have completed one full calendar year at the nominating institution to be eligible.
